Gastroenterologist & Endoscopist
Dr Linda Yang is an accomplished gastroenterologist and endoscopist with appointments at Epworth Hospitals and St Vincent’s Public and Private Hospitals in Melbourne. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and holds a PhD in endoscopic quality and the application of artificial intelligence in endoscopy.
Linda completed her specialist gastroenterology training at St Vincent’s Hospital and further obtained post-fellowship training in advanced endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease. She was the lead author of the 2025 Australia and New Zealand Position Statement on Quality of Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and applies these gold-standard principles in her daily practice. Her research and clinical expertise place her at the forefront of cancer screening using artificial intelligence in endoscopy and management of IBD.
As the founder of Leonda Gastroenterology, Linda delivers advanced, comprehensive digestive care in state-of-the-art facilities. The practice offers a full spectrum of services, including in-house dietetics, capsule endoscopy, and iron infusions, with further specialised treatments continually being introduced.
Linda is known for her contemporary and compassionate approach to care. Dr Linda Yang’s Research
Dr Linda Yang is an active clinician-researcher specialising in endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease, with a particular interest in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in colonoscopy.
She holds multiple competitive research grants and leads her own research team focused on using AI to improve the detection of pre-cancerous changes in the bowel.
Passionate about collaboration, Dr Yang works with colleagues from around the globe and is actively involved in the supervision and mentoring of PhD fellows, trainees, and medical students.
In 2025, she was the lead author of the Australia and New Zealand Position Statement on Quality Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
